With 245 kW (333 PS ) and 420 Nm of torque, the Audi S3 is now more powerful than ever.
As part of a new product upgrade, the 2.0 TFSI receives an increase in output of 23 PS and 20 Nm more torque.
Audi says the S3 now sprints from zero to 100km/h in just 4.7 seconds, with a top speed of 250km/h.
The performance boosted Audi S3 will be available as a saloon or sport-back, going on sale in May. Irish prices and specifications have yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, Audi says the S3's seven-speed S tronic gearbox now enables a more spontaneous take off, thanks to higher starting torque.
Audi adds that S3 driver can select between six distinct driving modes: auto, comfort, dynamic, individual, efficiency and new dynamic-plus mode, which – as the name suggests – is said to offer especially high driving dynamics.
The S sports suspension comes as standard in this S3 models. It lowers the body by 15 mm compared to the A3. The same applies to the optional S sport suspension with adaptive dampers, which has been specially tuned for the torque splitter and the respective Audi drive select modes.
The upgraded Audi S3 comes as standard with 18-inch 225/40 tyres. Two 19-inch 235/35 tyres are available as an option, including performance tyres with optimised dry handling and improved braking behaviour.
There are four colour choices: District Green, Ascari Blue, Progressive Red and Daytona Gray, which for the first time is also available in a matte finish.
Inside, sports seats with integrated headrests and pronounced side bolsters provide enhanced lateral support. In addition to DAB+ digital radio and the 10.1-inch touch display, the Audi virtual cockpit, and an inductive smartphone charger all come as standard. As well as the two front USB C charging ports in the center console, there are two additional ports in the rear as standard.
