The final act to be announced for the Big Top at this summer’s Galway International Arts Festival will be fronted by Stewart Copeland, founder of English rockers the Police.
Police Deranged by Orchestra, conducted by Eímear Noone, is the brainchild of Copeland, who is now a rock star composer. Backed by a 28-piece orchestra, full band and guest vocalists, Copeland on drums will run through four decades of Police classics including ‘Roxanne’, ‘Don’t Stand So Close To Me’, ‘Walking on the Moon’, ‘Every Breath You Take’, ‘Every Little Thing She Does is Magic’ and ‘Message in a Bottle’. The show will be on Wednesday, June 17.
Other Big Top headliners will be Leftfield, Passenger, Kneecap, Block Rockin Beats, Annie Mac, Jess Glynne, KETTAMA, Gavin James, and The Saw Doctors.
Tickets for Stewart Copeland go on sale tomorrow, Friday April 10.
