The Eye Cinema in Wellpark has won the ‘Cinema of the Year’ prize at the 2024 Prestige Awards.
These global awards recognise small- and medium-sized local businesses that have proven to be the best in their market over the past 12 months.
The judges were particularly impressed by the efforts made by Eye Cinema to champion the arts. Beyond traditional films, the Eye Cinema embraces alternative content, offering live operas, ballets, stage musicals, plays, and rock concerts on its big screens, elevating the experience for enthusiastic lovers of performing arts.
From Hollywood blockbusters to independent films, or foreign language gems, the Eye Cinema caters for every cinematic palate, making it a must-visit destination for movie buffs, families and visitors to the city.
All shortlisted Prestige Award companies are asked to support their nominations with evidence of their work, positive client feedback, information on previous accreditation and recognition, as well as highlighting the most outstanding parts of their businesses.
The judging panel bases its decisions upon service excellence, quality of the product provided, innovative practices, value, ethical or sustainable methods of working, and consistency in performance.
The Eye Cinema General Manager Umair Maqsood said he was “very proud” of the hard work put in by the cinema’s staff to win this award.
