Iconic Irish rock band Aslan have embarked on a new chapter in their journey following the sad passing of legendary singer Christy Dignam.
With lead vocalist, Lee Tomkins, at the helm, they will bring four decades of music to the stage at Monroe’s Live on Saturday, April 20 at 7:30pm.
The band is resolute in their decision to continue playing, a commitment driven by the desire to keep the spirit of Aslan alive for their loyal fan base. For them, it is a poignant tribute to the memories forged over the years and a testament to the enduring legacy of the band.
Tomkins brings his own unique style to their beloved songs ensuring that Aslan's music will continue to resonate with audiences. As they embark on this transition, the band will perform songs that have never been heard live before, setting the stage for a new era for the group.
Aslan said; “After 40 years of playing with our front man Christy, we absolutely know it’s not the same and never will be, but we want to continue playing our music and bringing our music to you. This is our way of letting our memories of over four decades, live on, keeping Aslan alive within each of us and together and keeping our music alive for you all.
“We are looking forward to seeing you again and we welcome Lee Tomkins, who will be singing our Aslan songs, and has been a huge support to each of us, in being able to make this happen.
We, as always, are so grateful for the love and support you have all shown us, through our difficult times and our good times. We truly hope we will make you proud and we are looking forward to bringing you some songs that we have never performed live before!”
