Moylough singer-songwriter Michelle Gahan has released her first album The Journey of my Song.

A former member of Ceoltóirí Maghlocha and Cloud 9, she is a well-known church service soloist and has received airtime in radio stations in Britain, Ireland and Australia.

The Galway folk singer’s music has a wide array of influences from The Carpenters, Nancy Griffith and Dolores & Sean Keane, to The Cranberries and Abba.

Gahan is currently studying Contemporary Music in Dublin, where she regularly plays gigs in pubs and other venues.

She released her first album The Journey of my Song last month, with artwork by her sister Cepta Graceffa. “It is a metaphor for life and our interdependence on one another,” said Gahan.

The EP is available for download, and is available on CD in Galway’s music shops.
