Sales top €3 million at latest O’Donnellan & Joyce livestream auction

O’Donnellan & Joyce, a leading expert both locally and nationally for selling properties by auction, reported a tremendous day for both buyers and sellers alike on Friday last.

More than 20 properties were offered throughout Ireland from Galway to Donegal, including several properties in counties Dublin, Mayo, Roscommon and Kildare. All went under the auction hammer attracting not only local but also national and international interest.

The live stream auction was held in the offices of O’Donnellan & Joyce on Mary Street in Galway, which were transformed into a large auction studio by Brandt International.

Industry leading auctioneer Colm O’Donnellan took bids from buyers locally and internationally via phone and online, all from the comfort and convenience of the buyers' own homes. Highlights of the days proceedings included the following sales.

No 12 Canal Road Lower, Galway

A charming semidetached property in a tranquil cul-de-sac along Galway city’s picturesque canals, perfectly situated near the University of Galway and just minutes from Galway's West End. This unique blend of location and potential was one of the main attractions at last Friday’s auction. This property generated lots of viewing interest and, following intense bidding on the day, was sold for €510,000, a huge €45,000 over its reserve price.

Former Garda station and residence, Ballyforan, Co Roscommon

There was huge interest in the former Garda station and residence at Ballyforan. Built circa 1940 on the Roscommon-Galway border, this detached property needs full refurbishment. It saw huge viewing interest and after intense bidding, was sold for €200,000. Situated within easy access of Athlone, Roscommon town and Ballinasloe, it offers potential as a family home or indeed a nice investment property.

No 1 St Vincent’s Avenue, Woodquay, Galway

This was the first live stream auction of 2024. Afterwards, auctioneer Colm O’Donnellan said the team were delighted with the brilliant results and the number of properties that they obtained throughout Ireland to sell by auction.
