Following the release of its latest track, ‘The Earth Was Flat’ last month, Stomptown Brass is back at Monroe’s Live for a funky set on Saturday, March 2, at 7.30pm.
Known for catchy titles, the band brings its ‘Tour for the Album Tour’ to Galway’s Dominick Street venue with a spirited fusion of urban street funk, delivered with the dynamic power of brass.
Featuring Ruth McGill on vocals, ‘The Earth Was Flat’ exudes the band's signature styles of funk, swing and blues, accompanied by raucous rhythmic drive. Expect more in their upcoming album.

Boasting a line up with two drummers, two trombones, two trumpets, one saxophone and one tuba, this dynamic group play a host of original songs crafted by trombonist James O’Leary.
Comprising Robert Grant on trumpet and lead vocals, Liam Ryan on trumpet, Luke Byrne on sax and vocals, Finnian Kelly on trombone, James O’Leary on trombone and vocals, Brian Larkin on tuba and vocals and Brendan Doherty and Darragh McGrath on drums, Stomptown Brass reimagines the tradition of brass bands with a stomping, modern twist.
