Spiddal Angling school is a long established centre of excellence for fly fishing and spinning tuition, and has catered for beginners and improvers for almost 20 years.
The purpose built fishing school founded by Noel Thornton is a family run business with both a local and international reputation. The school offers a wide range of both sea angling and fly fishing courses for anyone from the age of nine upwards.
A selection of short courses will run during July and August covering casting, knots, lines, spinners, spoons, jigs, and tides. With the mackerel season beginning a special shore angling class is being offered for children from the ages of nine to 16. Classes will run from 6 to 9pm July 13 to 15, and July 20 to 23. The course costs €60 and you must bring your own fishing tackle. Each course is limited to a maximum of 10 students.
