Irish Rugby star and Galway native, Beibhinn Parsons, has been appointed an Opel brand ambassador, as she was presented with a new Opel Corsa Electric at Bill Sheehan and Sons, Terenure, Co Dublin.
A sponsor of Irish Rugby and the official car partner to the IRFU, Opel Ireland has welcomed Beibhinn to her new role at the main Opel dealer.
Parsons joins Amee Leigh Murphy Crowe, Stacey Flood, and Linda Djougang, as an Opel brand ambassador.
The Ballinasloe woman played GAA as a youngster before rugby became her passion, in a move that saw her playing winger for Blackrock College RFC and representing Connacht.
Now with 21 caps for her country, winger Parsons first made history as Ireland's youngest-ever rugby debutante in 2018 when aged just 16, she made her senior international debut, initially in 15s rugby, then making headlines with the 7s team.
Known fondly amongst rugby circles as the Irish Flyer, she clinched the 2020 Guinness Rugby Writers of Ireland Player of the Year award and was also nominated for the RTE Young Sportsperson of the Year accolade in 2021.
Parsons, who is currently representing Ireland at the World Rugby Sevens Series Perth, was an integral member of the successful Irish Rugby Women's 7s squad which secured their team place at the forthcoming Olympics in Paris this summer.
Beibhinn Parsons said: "I am over the moon with my new Opel Corsa Electric. It's just so gorgeous and I love driving a pure electric car. It's just so easy; I am truly converted! Huge thanks to Bill Sheehan and Sons Opel for giving me this incredible opportunity. I am so looking forward to working with Team Opel in my new role."
