TK Maxx to open in Prospect Hill this autumn

There was good news for fashionistas this week with the announcement that TK Maxx, the designer brands-for-less retailer, is set to open its doors at City Point, Prospect Hill this autumn.

The fourteenth TK Maxx store in Ireland will boast over 32,000 sq ft of designer items in fashion, home and gifts as well as children’s and shoe departments and a jewellery counter.

The shop will receive around 10,000 new items every week so customers can find something fresh and different every time they visit.

“The TK Maxx concept is simple: give people what they want – loads of brands across fashion, homeware, gifts and accessories at great values,” explains Lucy McGonigle, spokesperson for TK Maxx.

“TK Maxx buyers have been scouring the globe all year round to bring you the latest in designer brands at a fraction of the cost. With no frills or fancy extras in-store, incredible savings can be passed on to the customer.”

She says the new store makes the company feel “particularly house proud”.

“It’s TK Maxx like you’ve never seen it before with more than 50,000 items to choose from and 10,000 new pieces arriving every week. There are still no waterfalls or marble floors though - we’d rather pass on the savings to our customers.”

TK Maxx operates a unique “off-price” concept which originated in the United States. It sells designer and high street brands of womenswear, menswear, homeware, gifts and accessories at up to 60 per cent less than the recommended retail price.

The company was launched in the UK in 1994 and now has over 200 stores nationwide. Opportunistic buying and a no frills operation means it can pass huge savings onto customers. A typical store has over 50,000 items in stock and receives 10,000 new pieces, styles and colours a week which means stock is consistently fresh.
