The roaring tribal beats of Kíla are set to ignite the stage at Monroe’s Live for a New Year’s Eve celebration.
This Sunday, December 31, ring in 2024 with the eclectic and furious folk-rock of this eight-piece world band from 9pm.
Kíla infuse the energy of the Irish tradition with a captivating mix of diverse international influences, incorporating djembe, congas, brass, and bass for a fiery and passionate performance.
With the spirit of Gaelic ancestry, they push the boundaries of traditional, classical, and rock music to create joyful, freewheeling compositions.
Formed in the late 1980s, Kíla has solidified their position as one of Ireland’s most innovative bands.
Nominated for an Emmy for their work on 'Ireland’s Wild River', they have also collaborated on Oscar-nominated animations like 'The Secret of Kells' and 'The Song of the Sea’.
This will be a New Year’s Eve party to remember with a host of special guests. DJ Flako will bring his ‘Flashback’ set to the backstage venue for anthems, throwbacks and classic tunes.
