Galway girl Celaviedmai has emerged as a captivating figure on the Irish hip-hop and rap landscape.
Garnering recognition as a rising star, she has already shared the stage with the likes of Kelis, Nova Twins, Lil Wayne, Mac Miller, Hoodie Allen, and Tinchy Stryder.
Now she will take to the stage at Monroe’s intimate backstage venue this Saturday, December 16, at 10pm.
This year has been a standout year for the performer, with the release of her new single ‘Cool Ya Temper,’ three London shows, and numerous festival appearances. Born and raised in Galway, she is inspired by the beats, flow and wordplay of a multitude of artists, including the hip-hop stylings of Kendrick Lamar and Niki Minaj.
Her highly anticipated second EP is in the works, inspired by electronic, dance and afro-fusion genres, although Celaviedmai herself defies an urban music genre.
The rapper’s multicultural background is reflected in her work, where she skilfully blends English, French, and Irish, paying homage to her Ivorian roots.
Her debut EP, Both Sides of the Story, has featured on prominent Spotify playlists and she is featured in the theme song of the It Galz podcast.
With new songs forthcoming and debut performances in Prague and Brussels, this is an opportunity to catch the talented artist on home shores.
Support on the night from fellow Galway rappers Marco x Kelvo, whose clever wordplay is influenced by an array of genres, from gospel and R'n’B, to rock. There will be a DJ set afterwards from Kimbly.
