Christmas is often said to be “the most wonderful time of the year”, but for many it is a time of sadness and a reminder of loss and absence.
In solidarity with those whose circumstances, for whatever reason, mean Christmas and the seasonal celebrations are a difficult time, Blue Christmas, a special service at St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church, takes place on Thursday December 14 at 8pm.
All denominations, and none, are welcome to Blue Christmas, an invitation to reconnect with the narrative of Christ’s birth without having to deny the pain of bereavement, loss, or whatever challenge or trial you have endured or are facing.
This will be a quiet and reflective service, in the peace of this historic church, with a focus on bringing hope and reassurance to all those who attend.
