Bon Jovi's legacy comes to life at Monroe’s Live this Friday, November 24, with the electrifying performance of tribute band Slippery When Wet.
Lead singer Collie Brophy, formerly of the renowned Dublin group Dead Ringer, says he’s looking forward to paying homage to the glam rock era when he arrives in Galway this week.
“I have a long connection to Galway as I have been gigging here since I was 18 years old. It is my spiritual home, and I am looking forward to our night at Monroe’s Live. It’s a fantastic venue and we bring something different to every show.”
Known for recreating the passion and bravado of the original group, Brophy channels the swagger and style of Jon Bon Jovi.
Not only has he performed with Dead Ringer, the Bon Jovi super fan’s other claim to fame is appearing twice on the Eurovision stage in 1994 and 1995.
The Slippery When Wet five-piece also features Conor Curran on guitar, John Mulrooney on keyboards, Darragh O’Hare on drums, and Kieran McDonnell on bass.
All of the members have international touring experience alongside notable acts such as Magnum, Status Quo, and Skid Row.
Together they will revisit the chart topping hits like 'Wanted Dead or Alive,' 'Bad Medicine,' 'Bed of Roses,' and the soulful 'Blaze of Glory.'
Catch Slippery When Wet, Ireland's foremost Bon Jovi Tribute band, at Monroe’s Live on Friday, November 24, at 11pm.
