After months of rehearsals, the Transition Year students of Clarin College are set to perform Roald Dahl’s classic, Matilda.
Directed by Alana McCloone and Deirdre Burke, and starring Hazel Burke in the title role, the much-loved children’s musical runs nightly from Thursday, 30 November, to Saturday, 2 December, at the Clarin College gym, Athenry. All shows 7.30pm sharp.
Matilda Wormwood comes from a dysfunctional family with no time for her love of books or learning, and finds herself enrolled in a school headed by a tyrant, principal Trunchbull (played by Sean Cooke ). Only with the help of a local librarian, her few friends, and a kindly teacher can Malilda thrive.
