Fans of the late Glen Campbell, the international star who fused country and pop to become a legendary singer-songwriter, will be thrilled to hear the original musical stylings of his daughter, Ashley Campbell, alongside guitar virtuoso Thor Jensen at Monroe’s on Friday, November 17, at 7:30pm.
Ashley has followed in her father’s footsteps, continuing his legacy as she carves her own niche in the music industry. She honed her craft in front of millions on the global stage as part of her father’s band, and continues a successful solo career.
Her haunting single ‘Remembering’ is a tribute to his life, garnering critical acclaim. Since then, she has toured extensively, sharing stages with icons like Kris Kristofferson and the Bellamy Brothers.
Hailing from New York, Thor Jensen brings his experience from rock to gypsy jazz, complementing Ashley’s country and Americana roots.
Having performed in renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall, Thor continues to contribute to the vibrant jazz scene, delving into the music of Django Reinhardt alongside his other projects.
Their paths crossed when Ashley wanted to learn more from Thor about this distinctive French-Romani jazz style, a truly niche genre on the Nashville scene.
Together, these accomplished instrumentalists create a fresh sound as a duo. Their musical synergy is unparalleled with Thor's deep baritone complimenting Ashley's sweet, emotional vocal delivery.
Their new album, Turtle Cottage, was recorded in Ireland, fusing elements of folk and jazz in an unique meeting of musical minds, including a number of instrumentals.
Catch Campbell / Jensen for this intimate acoustic set at the backstage venue of Monroe’s Live on Friday, November 17, at 7:30pm.
