An Post has won an EU Excellence in Road Safety Award for its ‘Driving Towards Zero’ campaign aimed at improving the safety of its drivers and other road users.
The campaign is said to have resulted in a decline of 60 per cent in the number of road traffic accidents over two years, as well as a drop in the number of injuries from 42 to four.
Speeding was reduced by 77 per cent and €1.5 million in fuel costs were avoided because of better fleet efficiencies, according to An Post.
An Post received the award in the E-Commerce category, one of the five Award categories.
