Monroe’s hosts the original ‘teenage dirtbags’

Irreverent alt-punk rockers Wheatus are on tour more than two decades after releasing their eponymous debut album, including the global hit ‘Teenage Dirtbag’.

To celebrate this milestone, they are embarking on a tour of Britain and Ireland, landing at Monroe’s Live in Galway on Friday, October 27, at 8pm.

While no longer teenagers, the six-piece band has lost none of its energy or dynamism, and continue to sell out concerts internationally.

Lead singer, guitarist and founding member, Brendan B. Brown maintains the strong vocals and propulsive riffs that ignited the group to stardom. He is joined by Matthew Milligan on bass, Brandon Ticer on keyboards, KC Marotta on drums, Joey Slater and Gabrielle Sterbenz on backing vocals.

Relive the era of the noughties and Y2K as they storm through their set list culminating in the song that gained momentum once again last year thanks to social media.

The gritty ‘Teenage Dirtbag’ captured the spirit of rebellion that is synonymous with the band, a nod to Brown’s personal childhood experience of feeling like an outsider. It became the song of a generation.

This exciting Wheatus tour has been in the making for three years, since the original 20 year celebrations were put on hiatus during the Covid pandemic.
