Twentieth anniversary of Living as Paddy Casey tours to Galway

For the first time in nearly two decades, the formidable Paddy Casey will perform his entire album Living as he marks 20 years since the album broke boundaries for the singer-songwriter.

Together with his full band, Casey is set to gig at Monroe’s Live stage on Saturday, October 28, at 8pm.

To this day, ‘Living’ is one of Ireland’s best-selling albums, with hits such as ‘The Lucky One', ‘Bend Down Low,’ ‘Want It Can’t Have It,’ and ‘Saints and Sinners’.

Spending over a year at the top of the charts, this success consolidated Casey’s stratospheric rise to fame, following the release of his debut album Amen in 1999.

His heartfelt and emotive song-writing style quickly garnered attention, as did his powerful, soulful voice accompanied by acoustic guitar.

The 15-times platinum Living opened new doors for the Dublin artist, furthering his career as he toured with the likes of U2, KT Tunstall, R.E.M., Blondie, The Pretenders and Pearl Jam.

His success in the early ‘00s created a legacy for future generations who followed his path from busker to star.

Stardom is a moniker that the humble Casey was never comfortable with. He has always preferred performing his music on-stage; direct to his audience without the trappings of fame.

Now he is embarking on a celebration of the songs from his second album that made him a cherished icon, with support from Sano Hill.
