In just 15 days time, the festive spirit will hit Galway when the Christmas Market Galway opens in Eyre Square, kicking off eight weeks of fun and frolics in the city centre.
The event, now n its 13th year, will open on on Friday November 10 bringing Christmas cheer to Eyre Square right up until Friday December 22. The vintage amusements and The View Wheel will continue to operate until Christmas Eve and then on December 26, a scaled-back version of the Christmas Market will re-open on both Eyre Sq North and on the Plaza in Kennedy Park.
More than 60 wooden chalets lining the square will offer scrumptious seasonal treats and a large variety of crafts.
Food lovers can feast on everything from German Bratwurst, Traditional Crepes, Irish handmade fudge, Chimney cakes and other indulgent confectionery from over 60 traders as well as a range of hot food at the charcoal grills.
For those who fancy a sociable tipple, there will be traditional mulled wine and beer served in steins in the Bier Keller. For the perfect Christmas Gift, browse among the broad range of Artisan traders showcasing handmade food and crafts.
Festive visitors, kids and adults alike, can get in the Christmas spirit with a visit to Santa plus a spin on both the traditional carousel and the hugely popular 32m observation wheel, offering a stunning birds-eye view of the lights of Eyre Square, right out to Galway Bay.
Back on terra firma, families and friends can enjoy festival games, interact with local charities and stroll through the enchanted light gardens, where a traditional sleigh provides the backdrop for a Christmas Market photo.
Maria Moynihan Lee of Milestone Inventive, the producers of the Christmas Market Galway said they are delighted that the annual Christmas Market continues to deliver the spirit of Christmas and record visitor numbers to the city centre each year to the benefit of both the traders and the retail and hospitality sectors.

The Christmas Market Galway runs from Friday November 10 to Sunday January 7 with varying opening days and hours to accommodate the Christmas Holiday period:
from Friday November 10 to December 22, from 12 noon to 10 pm Mondays to Wednesdays, from 10 am to 10 pm Thursdays to Saturday and 10am to 8pm Sundays (bars open until 10pm every day ).
The Bar will be open on Saturday December 23 as will the vintage amusements and The View Wheel (until lunchtime on Sunday December 24 )
On December 26, a scaled back version of the Christmas Market will re-open on both Eyre Sq North and on the Plaza in Kennedy Park until January 7. This will include the ever-popular Christmas Market Bar until December 31.
