Well Galway Comedy Festival has come to your rescue with… a pub crawl!
The Latin Quarter Club Crawl begins 8pm at the Pálás Cinema on Thursday, October 26, and Saturday, October 28. The City Centre Comedy Crawl kicks off 1.30pm from The Dean Hotel Saturday, October 28, and Sunday, October 29.
Here’s how it works: You decide this sounds fun so you take a chance, and book your ticket. You arrive at the first venue on time, grab a drink and settle in for the fun. Here you'll see your MC for the show and another top comedian. Only then will the next venue be revealed, where you do the same thing (drink, sit, laugh ), and repeat for the third venue where you see two of the top acts from the #GCF23 programme.
You now just need to pick which Crawl to go to.
The Thursday Latin Quarter Club Crawl bill is Andrew Maxwell, Eddie Mullarkey, Sally-Anne Hayward, and Irish comedy legend Kevin Gildea; while on the Friday, it’s David McSavage, Bernard Casey, Jack Wise, and Aideen McQueen.
The Saturday, October 28 crawl boasts Seann Walsh and Mickey Bartlett as headliners, along with Elena Gabrielle, Sinéad Quinlan, and Tom O’Mahony.
That’s more than three hours of comedy, which happens to be over by 5pm, meaning you will be in town in time to watch the Rugby World Cup final! So, come for the crawl, have a great laugh, and get yourself in high good humour for the big match.
Similarly, the Sunday, October 28, crawl with headline sets from Milton Jones and Phil Ellis, along with DirtBirds’ Sinead Culbert and Paddy Raff, is on the same day as the Macnas Parade. Again it is over at 5pm, so make a day of it - enjoying an afternoon of marvellous comedians, followed by another spectacular Macnas display.
