Stars of Country Music will gather in County Galway this month to celebrate the career of award-winning singer Louise Morrissey.
Mike Denver, Sandy Kelly, John Hogan and friends are set to mark the 35th anniversary of Tipperary’s Morrissey’s recording career at an event in the Lough Rea Hotel. Morrissey achieved initial fame with The Night Daniel O’Donnell Came to Town, soon followed by a European Country Music Gold Star Award.
The Bansha-born artist is considered one of Ireland's greatest female performers. Morrissey’s hits include Slievenamon, Tipperary On My Mind, Flying Home To Aherlow, The Tear, The Cottage in the Country, September Sky, Circles, Come Down from the Mountain Katie Daly, All Around my Hat and many more.
“The Galway Boy” Mike Denver will partake in his great friend Louise’s anniversary celebration. With a staggering amount of hit songs and awards under his belt, Mike will be sure to get those feet tapping to classics such as The Day of My Return, Tommy K, Absent Friends and of course The Galway Girl.
Louise’s long-time friend Sandy Kelly’s touching tribute to Patsy Cline has toured to high acclaim throughout Britain and Ireland. She will perform her fabulous rendition of Crazy and Sweet Dreams.
The Offaly Rover and true country legend John Hogan will delight the audience with his exciting selection from a vast repertoire of hits including Still Got a Crush on You, Rollin’ Home, Those Brown Eyes, Morning Sun and Memories. This full bill of country stars will be backed by rocking band Matrimony. This will be a fun-filled, memorable celebration of Morrissey and her wonderful career.
