With a ferocious blend of screaming guitars, thunderous drums, and pulsating basslines, Negative Creeps capture the essence of Nirvana's music, transporting audiences back to the raw, rebellious spirit of the 90s.
From the moment they take the stage at Monroe’s Live on Friday, September 15, Negative Creeps channel the energy and ethos of Nirvana, rekindling the flames of the Seattle sound that swept the world off its feet.
The Newry based three piece are looking forward to their return to the award-winning Dominick Street venue, as they are back once again to deliver the explosive live experience that honours the iconic grunge legends.
Their dedication to authenticity is evident as they meticulously curate a set list drawn from every corner of Nirvana's extensive discography.
Whether it's the haunting melodies of ‘Come as You Are,’ the frenetic power of ‘Breed,’ or the emotional depth of ‘All Apologies,’ Negative Creeps deliver each song with fervour.
“We always look forward to playing in Monroe’s,” says bass player with the band Patrick Campbell. The crowd is always well up for a Nirvana show and we love playing there.”
Patrick is joined by Seán McAlinden on guitar and Del McParland on drums to bring the work of the grunge rockers to life.
From searing guitar riffs to pulsating rhythms and the surge of alt-rock lyrics, this is a chance for fans old and new to revel in the nostalgia of Nirvana's heyday.
“We all grew up listening to Nirvana and have been together as a band recreating their music for ten years,” continues Patrick.
“We have been lucky to play all over Ireland. Realistically, we have been playing their work for a longer period than the band were in existence.
“They made a global impact on the music scene in such a short space of time, writing classic songs which everyone loves.”
Thanks to their unwavering commitment to recreating the intense, unfiltered sound of Nirvana, Negative Creeps pay a vibrant tribute to the band's enduring legacy, ensuring that the spirit of grunge lives on, alive and roaring.
“It’s hard to believe that next year is the 30th anniversary of Kurt Cobain’s untimely death. He was one of the best songwriters of all time and the band were the Beatles of their day. We are delighted to play their timeless songs live on stage in Galway this September,” he concludes.
