Galway's Michael Duffy was on song for the Irish team in this year's prestigious Aga Khan Trophy at the RDS Arena.

Making his debut in this world famous event, Duffy produced two superb rounds, helping Ireland to finish runners-up to winners Switzerland.

The first Irish rider into the ring, Duffy, riding Cinca 3, owned by Hibernian Horses Ltd, helped Ireland to a strong start. A toe in the water left him on four faults, with the second Irish rider Michael Pender suffering the same fate. Cian O'Connor and Shane Sweetnam followed, ensuring the Irish team were level with Belgium and Spain in second place, with the Swiss team having enjoyed perfect start.

Duffy, the son of former international course builder and show jumper, Paul Duffy, ensured an excellent start in the second round, jumping clear, but in the end the Swiss team prevailed with two clear rounds with Ireland runners-up.
