Galway United legends will be involved in some of the fundraising activities for Lakeview School in honour of Dave Daly, who sadly passed away in June.
A highly regarded football man in Galway, Dave Daly served as a player, referee, and coach with a number of clubs in the city.
His brother Gerry, a former Galway United star, is spearheading a number of projects which will take place next week.
On Thursday August 24 at 8pm in the Claddagh Hall, Daly, Tommy Lally, and John Mannion will reflect on their respective careers in a question and answers session.
That is sure to interest supporters, both young and old, who will hear stories from three of United’s most prominent performers throughout the decades.
The following Saturday, August 26 at South Park (1pm kick off ) a selection of players from West United and Our Lady’s Boys Club will be involved in the Dave Daly Memorial game.
A cake sale and raffle will also be held in the Claddagh Hall following the game.
Several local businesses have made generous donations and supplied prizes for the events which will honour Dave Daly, while also generating funds for Lakeview School.
