Galway city band, Ol’ Times & The Gulls, at Róisín Dubh on Saturday August 19

Ol' Times

Ol' Times

Hailing from Galway City, Ol’ Times is a classic rock outfit that’s on a mission to bring rock n roll back to the forefront of music. The band draws inspiration from legendary acts like Led Zeppelin, The Doors, and The Rolling Stones while putting their own spin on the genre to create a sound that’s fresh and exciting.

Comprised of Gabriele, Manuel, Kai, Colm, and Finn, Ol’ Times is a multinational band that has been developing their unique sound and energetic live performances since their chance meeting in February 2019. With a mix of acoustic and electric guitars, percussion, keyboards, and driving ambition, they deliver a sound that seamlessly blends the old and new.

The Gulls are a rock & roll 3 piece from the UK. Three years ago, when the pandemic struck, they moved into their vans and took their music to the streets to earn a living. After these humble beginnings, and 3 years out on the road living and playing on the edge, their music is fueled by their authentic take on freedom, rebellion, and seizing the joy to live.

They play melodic rock & roll with influences of folk and blues, blistering guitar solos, 3-part harmonies and soulful, rebellious lyricism. Like Gulls they’ve had to scavenge to survive and now they’re beginning to thrive. They’re setting their sights on Ireland, with the belief that their music, their message, and they’re live or die attitude will resonate with the people there.
