Kick-start a career in art at Galway Community College

Do you want to create a portfolio to help you with your next step to getting into art college? Do you just want to spend a wonderful year in Galway studying and enjoying the life of an artist? Then Galway Community College of Further Education is the place for you.

GCC's art, design and portfolio Level 5 course will immerse you in drawing, design skills, graphic design, mixed media and computer graphics. You will gain experience in drawing, painting, print, working in 3D, design, Illustrator and Photoshop. This is a full-time course with work experience and Erasmus opportunities. If college is your goal, you will be interested to know that previous students have progressed to college in Galway, Limerick, Athlone, Dublin and the UK, studying in ATU (Atlantic Technological University ), NCAD (National College of Art and Design ), IADT (Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art Design and Technology ), TUS (Technological University of the Shannon ), and Birmingham University among others.
