On Sunday, May 7, the Croí Women at Heart brunch will take place at HYDE Bar from 12.30pm.

Women at Heart is a Croí-led campaign that aims to inform and empower women to prioritise their heart health. This is because cardiovascular disease is almost as common among women today as it is among men – and the Women at Heart campaign is designed to highlight this.

An expert panel of speakers will be chaired by PorterShed and Galway City Innovation District CEO, Mary Rodgers. Speakers will include Dr Niamh Hannon, stroke consultant at Galway University Hospital; Dr Lisa Hynes, health psychologist and Croí head of health programmes; and Aisling Harris, Croí cardiac and weight management dietetic lead.

The Croí Women at Heart brunch will take place in the delightfully chic city-centre location of HYDE Bar which is owned by the Connacht Hospitality Group.

“We’re really looking forward to this important get-together in HYDE Bar on May 7," Connacht Hospitality group marketing and innovation manager Eveanna Ryan said ahead of the brunch. "It promises to be a fun day out and would be ideal for sharing with a good friend.

“Events like this that raise awareness about cardiovascular health are so incredibly important – and there are sure to be lots of important lessons as well as wonderful conversations and great company,” she added.

On the day, there will be a drinks reception, a three course brunch featuring some of HYDE Bar’s most sumptuous offerings, luxury goodie bags for attendees, plus a raffle featuring an assortment of fantastic prizes. Tickets are €60 and can be purchased online via the Croí website croi.ie
