It’s back to the ‘80s at DNA this Friday, April 28th as the energetic and dynamic DJ Will Softly takes to the decks at the stylish club, located in the heart of the city’s bustling nightlife. It’s set to be the ultimate throwback event, as the talented Softly provides the soundtrack of the decade, bringing the best of ‘80s hits and party anthems to the floor.
A Galway treasure, DJ Will Softly’s career spans decades, displaying a passion for music that has led him to headline festival arenas at home and abroad. From Electric Picnic and Body and Soul to Treasure Beach in Jamaica, his wealth of experience and dedication to music of all genres captivates audiences.
Now, he is bringing his eclectic and vibrant collection of ‘80s classics to this unique event with a non-stop mix of top tunes that defined a generation.
Renowned for his ability to set the scene with rousing renditions, this will be a night to relive the era that brought synth-pop and electronica to life, championing international icons such as Whitney Houston, Culture Club, Phil Collins, Wham and The Police.
With four bars, three levels, two dance floors, two outdoor terraces and plush VIP Lounge named ‘The Attic’, DNA will be transformed into a venue that reignites the timeless chart toppers in true ‘80s style, as DJ Will Softly returns to his roots.
“It will be a night loaded with ‘80s classics,” he says. “The ‘80s have a magical hold on the world of music and you can expect the unexpected with every genre that this amazing decade gave to us.
“It was the last decade of a mobile free zone. There was no internet. MTV was our fixation and Top of the Pops our holy tabernacle, where superstars returned and were made. It’s going to be 100% fun, and I hope there will be lots of singalongs to the ‘80s vibe.”
Complete with the purple hat that is synonymous with the one and only Will Softly, he will storm through the discography of the age with flair. And this throwback night is a chance to don your best ‘80s attire, as there is a fancy dress competition with €500 in cash prizes, along with amazing giveaways.
With jelly shoes, shoulder pads and legwarmers galore, even the staff are getting in on the act thanks to local vintage clothing shop Planet Retro.
Not only that, fans of the ‘90s will be getting into the groove with one of Ireland’s top DJs. DJ Graydi spins the best dance Classics, Hip-Hop, r'n'b , commercial hits with a hint of Cheese. The party continues over two floors at DNA this Friday.
