PorterShed, a leading co-working space and innovation hub in Galway, has won the prestigious Enterprise and Start-up Hub Award at the 2023 All Ireland Community and Council Awards.

These awards recognize and celebrate community and councils working together to make Ireland a better place to live, work, and do business. PorterShed is funded by Enterprise Ireland through the Regional Economic Development Fund.

The Enterprise and Start-up Hub Award recognizes PorterShed’s outstanding contribution to supporting the growth and development of startups and innovative businesses in the Galway region.

The space offers community, flexible office space, meeting rooms, event spaces, and a range of other facilities and services to its members. It is home to a diverse community of entrepreneurs, tech-startups, and established companies.

Speaking about the award, Anthony Shaughnessy, the Community Manager of PorterShed, said it is an honour to receive this award.

“We are thrilled to be recognised for our contribution to the innovation ecosystem in Galway. I would like to thank the voluntary board of directors, our amazing team, our members and a very special thanks to our CEO Mary Rodgers for everything she has done to put PorterShed on the map.

“This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved with PorterShed, and we are excited to continue supporting the growth of innovative businesses in the region.

“The award was presented to PorterShed CEO Mary Rodgers and Board member Kenny Deery. The PorterShed was joined on stage by representatives from Galway City and County Council, and it is an excellent achievement for both councils to receive this recognition.

“The All Ireland Community and Council Awards celebrate the very best of Irish community development initiatives, showcasing the extraordinary work being carried out by individuals and organizations across the country. Several other Galway initiatives were recognised on the night including Gaillimh Le Gaeilge who won the Best Irish Language Initiative category.
