Starting 2023 as one of Whelan’s ‘Ones to Watch,’ Galway native and Tipperary-reared indie, folk and pop artist Conor Fahy, known as Dàwna, is set to ignite the intimate setting of the Backstage Bar at Monroe’s Live on Friday, April 28.
Dàwna is scaling new heights on the contemporary music scene, reaching no. 1 on the Irish overall and hip hop iTunes charts with his single, Mythology.
From his beginnings as part of folk duo ‘Far Haven’ Conor navigated the start of his musical journey while studying at the University of Galway. As he began to write his own material, he chose the name Dàwna from the Irish word ‘dána’ to mirror his cheeky and brave persona.
Inspired by the importance of vulnerability, love and healing, he has since supported renowned artists such as Hermitage Green, The Blizzards, Mundy and Susan O’Neill.
With a distinct vocal tone, he is gaining recognition as a top Irish talent, as he crafts his story through lyrics that are charged with the raw emotion of his generation.
Thanks to the power of social media, his audience has grown exponentially, leading to sell out shows in Belfast as he embarks on an Irish, UK and European tour to celebrate the launch of ‘The Mythology EP’.
Described as having an incredible voice and displaying a maturity beyond his years, his work is already leaving an imprint on those who witness his live performances.
Created with depth and an awareness of the world around him, he forms a bond with his audience through his work with a sense of humility born from genuine connection to those around him.
As his upward trajectory continues, Dàwna has played four headline shows in Dublin, Limerick, Cork and Nenagh. Now, he will bring his Mythology Tour to Monroe’s Live.
With support from Eddie Simmons and Odhrán Murphy, it’s set to be a night of original Irish music and song. Tickets for Dàwna at Monroe’s Live on Friday, April 28 cost €12 and are available from www.monroes.ie
