Chicago-based Blogger Ranks Monroe’s as Favourite Spot for Irish Pub Grub

Chicago-based food blogger, Katie Kelly, has named Monroe’s as her “favourite spot” for Irish pub food on a recent whistlestop tour of the city.

With almost 37 thousand followers on Instagram and 150 thousand on TikTok, the popular ‘Bits and Bites’ influencer visited the cosy venue on Dominick Street recently as she delved into Galway’s food heartland.

“We are delighted to be featured by Katie Kelly of ‘Bits and Bites’ in her recent posts on her social media pages,” says owner Gary Monroe. “It gives us such a boost and really is a testament to the work of the entire team. We care deeply about our food and are thrilled that she has acknowledged us as her favourite spot for Irish pub grub in Galway. It really is an honour, and her positive words bring us great joy.”

Her nod to Monroe’s cuisine coincides with the launch of their new spring menu. A host of new and exciting seasonal dishes have been crafted by their talented chefs to add a seasonal flair. Renowned for their rustic ciabattas, warming soups, hand-cut chips, and tasty desserts, it’s the perfect place for brunch with friends or a hearty evening meal.

With wholesome, locally sourced ingredients served fresh from farm to table, they have developed a new spring menu of delicious meals using in-season produce. Not only that, but they have crafted daily lunch and evening specials to enhance their classic menu with the Monroe’s style.

From a pulled pork burger with pickled red cabbage to creamy and light pasta, each dish has been tried and tested by their experienced chefs to bring the taste of the Wild Atlantic Way to you. Known for their traditional Irish fare, this new twist to their menu still includes firm favourites.

Oven roasted bacon served on a bed of cabbage with a rich parsley sauce, nourishing Irish beef stew with tender vegetables from Burkes fruit and veg, crispy beer battered fillets of Atlantic fish with golden fries, it’s the ultimate food from the heartland.

Monroe’s specialise in cuisine inspired by the west of Ireland. Using the best quality ingredients, their dedicated chefs present flavourful delights in every bite. This relaxed and friendly venue also serves a full range of tempting desserts, warm apple crumble with custard, luscious white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake or a delightful lemon tart. It’s all on offer as part of the new seasonally inspired spring menu at Monroe’s.

Lunch at Monroe’s is served daily from 12pm-4pm and dinner from 4pm-9pm. For more log on to www.monroes.ie
