Ar Ais Arís brings top Irish electronic music artists to city

Big Soundsystem. Big Lineup. Small, safe space. Dancing all night.

Ar Ais Arís is a monthly underground club night, run out of Aras nan Gael in Galway City.

It focuses on high energy, left-of-field club music which doesn’t always find a space elsewhere in the city – this is not your standard house & techno night. It has made an impact since launching in Galway last summer, with sell out crowds turning up every night. It is run by the four-person team of Robin Clancy, Alannah Dunford, Rob Flynn & Hannah Hession.

“When we launched, there wasn’t really a space for this type of ravey, party music in Galway, so we made one. We put a lot of effort into the visuals, décor and sound, and making people feel safe at the night – feeling comfortable to dance loads is very important for us. The night is not for everyone, we’re in a kind of rave/DIY/underground thing, but the people that come are really into it”, said Rob Flynn.

This month's Ar Ais Arís features a whopper line-up of some of Ireland's most exciting producers and DJs, including a live electro set. Hannah Hession is an AAA resident and part of the core crew, fresh from a big 2022 playing garage and breaks alongside scene luminaries such as Two Shell and Main Phase.

IXRQ is a Galway based electro producer who will performing a live set with synths and drum machines. His 12" on Sweden's Stilleben Records really turned heads and his new 90s emotive dance music project 'Tracksuit' launches in 2023.

PLUS ONE is a favourite at AAA and an act they've been trying to book since the beginning. He has a string of amazing releases under his belt, and has been blowing up in 2022 following the superb 'We Out Here' EP. He recently brought the house down at Keep Hush, an international event streamed from Dublin. His DJ sets are a wild mix of breaks, garage and jungle with emotions turned up high.

Doors are at 9pm. Tickets are €10 and are available from Resident Advisor and Eventbrite.
