One of Ireland’s great authors, the award-winning Joseph O’Connor, will join Tomás Kenny in conversation at Kennys Bookshop on Thursday, January 19, to celebrate the publication of his new novel, My Father’s House.
The event will take place at 6pm, and will celebrate the launch of O’Connor’s new novel, My Father’s House, which is out this month. Tickets for the event are free but are limited, so booking is advised.
O'Connor's new book, My Father’s House, is set in Rome in 1943, where an Irish priest, Hugh O'Flaherty, dedicates himself to helping those escaping from the Nazis. The book is described by Donal Ryan as “A masterwork... so urgent, so incredibly alive... A searing and beautiful example of storytelling's infinite importance”, while Liz Nugent says it is “utterly brilliant. O'Connor's gift for exquisite language shines through.”
Joseph O'Connor is the author of ten novels including Redemption Falls, Ghost Light, and Shadowplay, as well as two collections of short stories and a number of bestselling works of non-fiction. His novel Star of the Sea was an international bestseller, selling more than a million copies and being published in 38 languages.
Kennys are delighted to have an exclusive limited edition of My Father's House.
