Holistic health seminar

A seminar on preventing illness and restoring health will take place on June 16 at 7pm in The Ardilaun hotel. The seminar is based on Ayurveda, a system of health care that takes diet, lifestyle, and all aspects of mind and body into account.

Supported by the World Health Organisation, the system focuses on the prevention of disease. Giving the seminar will be Dr Donn Brennan, one of the first western medical doctors to train in the Ayurveda system in India.

He qualified in medicine at UCD in 1977, and is the founder and president of the Ayurvedic Practitioners’ Association. Since 1990 Dr Brennan has worked full-time in promoting, lecturing and consulting in Ayurveda. He has featured in many newspapers and on radio and television. Thousands of people consult with him for ongoing health advice. Also attending the seminar will be Shraddha Jarikote from India, who has completed a six year degree course in Ayurveda and has trained with Dr Brennan in his Dublin clinic. Shraddha has recently moved to Galway and will be offering Ayurvedic treatment and consultations in Galway.
