O’Donnellan & Joyce auctioneers had a very successful year with new homes sold across Galway city and county

The new homes section of O’Donnellan and Joyce have had a very successful year with five new developments offered for sale across the city and county in areas such as Knocknacarra, Moycullen, Oranmore, Kinvara, and Craughwell.

The demand for new homes has seen a continuous increase with the Help to Buy scheme, and the high BER rating foremost in buyers’ property list. Not alone have first time buyers shown high levels of purchasing, but second time buyers and downsizers are choosing these new energy efficient and cosy homes for permanent occupation.

Some notable new estates include developments from renowned Galway builder O’Malley construction offering a range of large semidetached and terraced homes on the east and west of the city.

The company's newly launched development of Maolchnoc, in Knocknacarra, has seen a huge interest in the first phase, with a number of units booked and limited numbers left available. On the east side of the city the highly successful Cuirt Bhoirne has yielded great results with just two units remaining.

In Moycullen, Agrimac is building/finishing the second of three phases in the Bun na Coille estate on the Mountain Road. There is a mixture of three and four bedroom houses which has witnessed incredible demand with predominantly first time buyers moving to the area.

In Oranmore there are two excellent developments available with lots of options and price ranges to choose from.

De Courcey has sold all of itsproperties, with just very impressive large four bedroom house remaining. These houses are due for completion in February 2023.

Tobar Orainn is new to the market and is also under construction in the Oranhill estate by highly regarded builder JBROC. This development has seen incredible demand due to its low density layout with homes overlooking very large green areas. This estate is proving extremely popular with superb bookings so far.

Kinport is finishing four luxury detached houses in the village. There are two houses remaining and these homes are certainly some of the finest and well-built homes on the market.

Lastly, in Kinvara, phase three of the highly sought after Rinn na Mara estate, by local Kinvara builder Atlanteco Ltd, is due to launch in 2023 with four homes practically completed and ready for sale.

Niall Browne, who heads the new homes section of the company, is very much looking forward 2023. “There is a variety of houses available in some exceptional new housing estates throughout the city which caters for all buyers taste and demands," he said. "There is a natural trend for buyers to seek energy efficient homes and in particular first time buyers who benefit greatly from the HTB and Government assisted purchase scheme.”

O'Donnellan & Joyce's new homes team are really looking forward to 2023 and are actively speaking to two developers in County Galway to bring their developments to the market in 2023.
