A boutique hotel on the edge of Galway's promenade

Sitting around the corner from the Prom, The Nest Boutique Hostel and self-catering apartments in Salthill is a truly unique and comfortable space that champions local, providing guests with a taste of what Galway has to offer.

The art of hospitality comes naturally to General Manager, Keith Kissane, who spent his summers working front of house in his family’s hotel, the renowned Hotel Sacre Coeur.

He went from there to a Michelin Star Restaurant in the Dordogne Region of France and even a stint catering for the rich and famous in the Hamptons, New York. After a few years back in Ireland exploring different industries and building on his qualifications and expertise, Keith helped owners Lorna and Steve Mayne bring The Nest from concept to reality. The trio were determined to create a relaxing, comfortable and stylish 'home' environment for guests.

Their self-catering option comes in the form of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments. Each apartment has been completely renovated and tastefully furnished, with detail given to every last element, including colouring, designer lighting and high quality accessories. Each apartment has a fully equipped kitchen and a comfortable living area. 100% of recent guests gave theirs a 5-star rating.

Their 'hostel' option includes ensuite bedrooms which are fitted with super comfy double beds, soft linen, power showers, and you might notice the contemporary Irish art work on the walls. The hostel's warm and inviting open areas have been designed to facilitate a calming place to chill out on your own or mingle with other guests. They also have a fully equipped guest kitchen where people can prepare their favourite meal or even experiment with local produce.

The Nest have also just partnered with local cafe owners of The Pear Tree Cafe & Bistro, who have opened a second cafe downstairs in The Nest. A smattering of huge, colourful, cosy chairs and tables await visitors who can look forward to delicious coffee (provided by Cork brand Soma 2 ), a very tasty and affordable food menu, and a selection of some of the freshest pastries in Galway.

Staff in both The Nest and The Pear Tree Cafe & Bistro staff are as sweet as the cakes, and there's a big blackboard up at reception detailing where else is good to go in Galway for fun, food, drinks and coffee.

For families, Santa @ the Nest is also returning this year after two Covid years off! and we are aiming to make it the biggest yet.
