Mother and daughter, Chris and Danielle Roche from Rosscahill are the businesswomen behind Stitches, Galway’s popular clothing alterations store. Like all successful people in business, these ladies are constantly looking for ways to improve and increase efficiency in Stitches so that they can offer the best possible service and comfort to their customers.
This was the main focus behind the company's recent decision to move to a much brighter and more spacious store on Eyre Street. The expansion, which offers a much larger and brighter alterations area has also seen the addition of a brand-new retail haberdashery store.
When Chris and Danielle took over Stitches in 2020, the company had one full time and two part time seamstresses in its workforce. Ensuring supply meets demand, as Stitches has grown, so too have they grown the workforce. There are now four fulltime seamstresses employed at Stitches, making it possible for an express service, all day every day. With a part time receptionist also employed and the owners themselves being readily available, customers can expect a prompt and efficient turnaround.
The new alterations area is impressive. It is bright, with spacious mirrored dressing rooms that are wheelchair accessible and buggy friendly. Innately creative when it comes to clothing, the team at Stitches are known for their expertise in working on a vast array of materials including corporate, event and bridal wear.
Situated to the front of the store allowing for customer privacy in the alterations area, the new haberdashery retail store is equally impressive and very inviting. Selling a large variety of items, customers will be delighted to see the selection of wools, fabric and haberdashery items for sale, a perfect shop for those who like knitting, crochet and sewing.
A visit to the new store is a must. Staff are on hand to offer any advice or help needed as well as a warm and welcoming smile.
