Claddagh Choral is delighted to present Live from Galway in the Galway Cathedral on the Thursday, October 20. This concert will feature world-class vocal ensembles Fir an Cladaigh and Galway City Chamber Choir.
Fir an Cladaigh is a male vocal ensemble that features 12 local professional choral singers who specialise in Irish choral music. They have performed at a number of large cultural events, TV broadcast and festivals including Electric Picnic.
Since its inception in 2019, Galway City Chamber Choir has performed both locally and internationally. They have hosted tenured professors from around the world to mentor the choir and have recently been commissioned by TG4 to record a one-hour Christmas Special to be aired at peak time on Christmas Eve.
Upcoming projects include work with Irish songwriter and lyricist Brendan Graham. Led by conductor Stephen Carroll, both ensembles will perform a variety of Irish choral music as well as choral music from around the world. Claddagh Choral is on Facebook and Instagram at @claddaghchoral.
The Local Live Performance Programming Scheme is funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media and administered by Galway City Council.
Tickets are priced at €7/10 and can be purchased on the EventBrite website, the concert will be starting at 7:30pm.
