Galway has been given a jobs boost this week with Xerotech, a leading supplier of advanced battery systems, expandng its operations in the county.
The Claregalway-based manufacturing company is planning to take on an additional 50 workers by the end of this year, having already increased its workforce since 2020.
The company, which boasts a workforce of more than 40 per cent international workers, is looking to fill a diverse range of roles including line operatives, executive assistants, design engineering, manufacturing engineering, supply chain, injection moulding, computer numerical control (CNC ) machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding and automation.
The company has seen a surge in demand for its products, especially in the non-road mobile machinery sector where it has emerged as leader in the supply of configurable battery systems already working with global OEMs.
Welcoming the jobs announcement, Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Leo Varadkar, says Xerotech’s growth has been phenomenal in the past couple of years.

The company is continuing to expand its operations in the Claregalway Corporate Park, with the addition of more buildings and the construction of extensions and alterations, which is expected to exceed an 80,000 sqft footprint by mid-2023.

Xerotech, founded in 2015 and headquartered in Ireland, is a leading manufacturer of advanced lithium-ion battery systems for use across construction, agriculture, mining machinery and various other applications. The company currently employs over 100 people at its Galway facility.
