A revolutionary new intensive anti-ageing moisturiser, which claims to mimic the effect of botox without the pinch of the needle or the pain of the price, is available locally.
Aldi’s Lacura Facial Care WrinkleStop (€9.99 ) is packaged in a pump style pen and replicates the effects of a protein found in the venom of the Templar viper snake.
The science behind the oil free, anti-ageing cream is the active ingredient Syn®-Ake. It is a new, synthetic substance which mimics the smoothing and anti-wrinkle effects of the Asian snake’s venom.
Amino acids found in the venom block nerve signals telling muscles to contract, which helps to stop wrinkles forming as well as smoothing out the skin, producing a more wrinkle free appearance.
Syn®-Ake hit the headlines in the UK last September when a similar product sold out at a major department store for £60 per pot. Aldi’s Lacura Wrinkle Stop contains the same ingredients at the same quality and efficacy, according to the makers.
Research from the WrinkleStops’ Swiss laboratory claims that, if applied regularly, the depth of facial wrinkles is reduced after just a few days with results from tests showing up to a 52 per cent reduction in wrinkles after 28 days.
Meanwhile Aldi’s Siana anti-wrinkle cream was recently voted “best buy” in a series of awards and sold out within days.
