This was a satisfying afternoon for Galway United, who cruised to an FAI Cup win at Tolka Park.

Bluebell United were brave throughout, but John Caulfield's team dictated the agenda following David Hurley's ninth minute goal.

The hard working United midfielder converted a penalty following a foul on the influential Stephen Walsh.

Two minutes later Bluebell captain Shane Strich was red carded following a challenge on Conor McCormack.

Walsh headed United two clear when connecting with Oisín O'Reilly's inviting cross.

Walsh subsequently added a third for the Tribesmen, who dominated the second half.

Bastien Hery crafted space for Rob Manley to score a fourth for United on 51.

Teenager David Tarmey extended United's advantage with 11 minutes remaining.

Another replacement, Francely Lomboto, netted twice in the closing stages to seal United's convincing victory.
