New novel to be launched in Charlie Byrne’s

SNOW WHITE Turtle Doves, the debut novel from Juliet Bressan, will be launched in Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop on Thursday September 18 at 6pm.

The novel, published by Poolbeg Press, is a contemporary love story set to the backdrop of the implications of the Iraq war.

Isabella and Harry were attracted to each other from the start but in college, the close bond between them began to wane with Harry’s passion for saving the world infringing on his passion for Isabella. The night Harry did not return home was Isabella’s cue for heading to New York without a goodbye.

Dr Sinead Skellig, who has just left Iraq to return to Ireland, meets Harry, who is now an anti-war campaigner. However Sinead knows Harry still longs for Isabella.

Keeping in touch with her close friend Moussa, Sinead returns to Baghdad to bring her sick friend out of the war zone. This was to be the last trip Sinead would take...

Jubilant from her successful theatre performance in New York, Isabella returns home, with a hope of being reunited with Harry. The shock of seeing him with a young boy obviously in adoration of his father was too much. Who is the little boy she heard him calling Tariq?
