What is your idea of perfect happiness?
I sometimes think I'm quite close to being happy, but something ruins it. I was happy earlier on today but then I had a huge nosebleed.
Which historical figure do you most identify with?
Sportsmen who claim to be not that great at the sport but just practice really hard. Stephen Roche is one. Padraig Harrington is another.
Which living person do you most admire?

Which is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
I’m lazy and a failure at most things I do and I’m no good at playing the piano.
What is your greatest extravagance?
I have 10 bicycles.What is your favourite journey?
Cycling home after a good gig while listening to loud music.

When taxi men ask me what I do for a living.

I despise the makers of Happy Feet.

I think I’ve always been about the same level of happy. Around seven.

I would like to be a great jazz musician.

I am currently feeling the pressure of expectation ahead of my first ever Clifden gig.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
I was once the overnight leader of the Achill Masters golf tournament. I blew it on day two.

An old portable pump organ that was carried around by a priest during WWII.

After a bad gig is pretty horrible.

Sometimes I would like to be an archaeologist.
