Six is the number at Fíbín sa Taibhdhearc innovative new production

You have to hand it to Fíbín sa Taibhdhearc for innovation. Their new production involves six short plays by six temporarily anonymous writers in six different intimate sections of the theatre.

Fresh from the success of the drama, Baile Beag Mór and a series of quality concerts, Fíbín sa Taibhdhearc’s artistic output continues apace and the spellbinding theatre company announces details of their next production, Faoi Cheilt.

Faoi Cheilt comprises six world premieres of six short plays in six different locations written by six writers (whose identity is kept hidden ), with each play being tied together by one hidden taboo theme.

This night of hair-raising theatre will see six plays produced in six different spaces in the theatre. The audience will be allowed to explore the building, visit forbidden rooms and enjoy six imaginative and highly diverse pieces of theatre. Each short play has an engaging, thought-provoking and at times, incendiary theme.

Audiences can expect a panoply of ideas and inspiring theatrical devices. The short plays comprise of a sinister puppet show; an erotic opera in the toilets; a kitchen sink drama in an actual kitchen; a musical in a war zone; a comic play set in a fetish club. The evening of theatre will be rounded off by a rousing finale; one that will unify all the dramas.

Audiences can also enjoy the aura and atmosphere of a smoky, sleazy piano bar and can expect an intimate theatrical experience. This is new, brave, exciting, daring and innovative theatre and could be your theatregoing highlight of the year.
