Galway WFC host Wexford Youths

Jenna Slattery, Emma Starr, and Shauna Brennan scored against Bohemians

Encouraged following an impressive away win over Bohemians, Alan Murphy's Galway WFC host Wexford Youths at Eamonn Deacy Park on Saturday (6pm ).

Goals from Jenna Slattery, Emma Starr, and Shauna Brennan ensured Galway left the capital armed with the full complement of spoils.

The fact that so many emerging young players in the Galway squad featured during the victory is another significant boost for Murphy's improving team.

An awkward assignment, though, is imminent against Wexford Youths, who have won five of their opening six matches. Since losing heavily against Peamount United, Wexford have enjoyed triumps over Cork City and Sligo Rovers.

Four clean sheets have been registered in the early weeks of the campaign by a well organised Wexford, but Galway will be striving to deliver a defiant display in the west.

With two successes from the last three fixtures, Galway are beginning to generate momentum in a competitive division.
