The first of these events will take place at 6.30pm in The Westwood House Hotel, Galway on Wednesday next September 17, so as to give companies a head start for the last quarter’s sales targets.

The Galway Business Club has invited an expert in the field of Networking Caitlin O’Connor of Accelerating Performance to facilitate this event. Ms O’Connor brings a unique energy, know-how and passion to this exercise providing motivation and vital tips on productive networking.

A business coach and trainer, she has held senior executive positions in the private and public sector. She played a key role in the launch of Esat Clear in addition to being global product marketing director with Point Information Systems as well as senior roles with Nevada.tele.com and Irish Broadband.

Statistics show that the benefits of networking far outweigh the productivity of cold-calling. Bear in mind the following figures: Seventy per cent of all jobs are found through networking ; every person you meet has 200+ contacts; Anyone that your company might want to meet is only six degrees removed ….

Business owners as well as representatives of Galway businesses are invited to attend, however, the event is limited to one representative in each profession/ business in order to prevent internal competition. So this is your rare opportunity to learn more, meet people and develop valuable business relationships. Spaces are limited – so to guarantee your place early and to avoid disappointment contact Galway Business Club by email [email protected] or telephone (087 ) 9080126.

The Galway Business Club is a member-run, business-building social network for local companies offering a new way of networking consisting mainly of small-business owners or representatives of small Galway businesses. The emphasis is on collaboration over competition, to expand business connections effectively through referrals from a huge variety of businesses - photographers to stationery suppliers, financial consultants to health and safety experts. The club holds a very successful weekly breakfast meeting which has proven a very productive business event for members.

Through their meetings, training sessions and visitors mornings, the group expands its network which leads to trusting business relationships and significant business generation for each other.

Membership is restricted to one representative in each business or profession to prevent competition within the membership. Fortunately there are some business areas still open for new members – contact [email protected] for more information. Participants’ details are posted on the club’s website www.galwaybusinessclub.com
