Galway businesswoman wins ‘Best Online Trader’ award at UK business awards

Galway entrepreneur and mum of three, Jade Gavin has won the Award for ‘Best Online Trader’ at the Micro Business UK Awards 2021 that took place in Scarborough this week.

This comes just months after she won ‘Best Young Entrepreneur’ at the Irish version of the Awards back in October. This is the fifth Award for the business which has been growing steadily for the past few years, adapting and growing with ever changing environments. Ziplines Ireland was one of the few and very lucky businesses that thrived throughout lockdown, maximising sales and bringing the business to a new level.

The awards centre around celebrating Micro Businesses in Ireland and the UK and focuses on numerous different markets such as eCommerce, Craft Businesses, Food Businesses, Reinvention etc. This ensures that all categories are catered for, considered and congratulated on their achievements in their respective areas.

Getting children outdoors, active and away from screens is the ethos of the business. Children’s physical and mental health is suffering from lack of exercise and human interaction and Jade believes that going back to basics and helping children be children, by enticing them outdoors will have a very positive impact on their well-being.

The range also focuses on being inclusive so that differently-abled children and adults can enjoy the fun so includes Full Support Swing seats and other items to adapt the products.

Zip-Lines Ireland provide zip-lining equipment to householders and businesses alike through their eCommerce site ziplines.ie as well as commercial grade components to adventure parks across Ireland including Westport House, Derg Isle Adventure Centre, Cuskinny and Playgrounds across the country.

Jade is continually looking for innovative ways to improve the business and invites Irish producers to get in touch if they have products that could add to the range. The range uses products from Jade’s own brand (ZLI ) as well as top quality brands from around the world, but where possible she would love to use more Irish companies and Irish products.

At present all sales are made through the businesses website but Jade is considering selling in retail outlets too.
