Tragedy and comedy - Seán Begley headlines the Róisín Dubh

Award winning comedian brings his acclaimed stand-up show to the Dominick Street venue

GALWEGIAN AND award-winning stand-up comedian, Seán Begley, brings his debut solo show, Tragic, to the Róisín Dubh on Sunday March 27.

Winner of Best New Act at the 2018 Bray Comedy Festival, and shortlisted for the RTE/Ray D’Arcy Stand Up and Be Funny competition in 2019, Seán has emerged from lockdown with a very personal take on friendship, marriage, parenthood, mental health, and formative years spent with a close friend who unexpectedly passed away in 2014.

“Performing for a live audience is a very unique and rewarding experience,” says Seán. “Where else would you get people to listen to you for 20 or 30 minutes at a time without being interrupted? The show has sold out at every venue to date and I’m looking forward to sharing my experiences with a Galway audience, especially having grown up in the city.”

Today FM’s Dave Moore described Seán as “a great man for a joke”. Garden Gigs Ireland called him “a great up and coming Irish comic and a seriously prolific joke writer”.

Support is from Breda Larkin, winner of Show Me the Funny 2018. Tickets are on sale via https://www.roisindubh.net
