After two years of international exposure, the Music at the Crossroads crew returns home for a series of free shows at the Kings Head. Their high tempo performances have earned such accolades as ‘the best music show to come out of Ireland in decades’.
Traditional Irish music and dance is hard to beat when it is done well, but when it is mastered then it is not to be missed. This is exactly what Music at The Crossroads has succeeded in doing. The show was developed in Galway in 2006 and has since grown from strength to strength. In its short lifetime, the show has appeared at prestigious venues across Europe and the US. When the show was being created, the intention was to present Irish music like never before.
A tough thing to do when you consider the massive leaps the genre has accomplished in recent times. Music at the Crossroads delivers, and will become a ‘must-see’ for its two week run in The Kings Head. And yes, it is free!
Talking ahead of the Galway shows, Eamon Crosby, Director, said “After two years of incredibly successful touring, we wanted to bring the show back to the people of Galway. As it was Galway people and tourists alike that helped us build the show, we wanted to give something back.
We wanted to do a run of free shows in the city and the historic and legendary Kings Head fitted the bill perfectly. It is an institution in Galway’s music scene so we knew that it would be great to see it on stage there. It will be a great intimate setting compared to the large theatres we are used to performing in”. The show runs Monday to Friday at 6pm, until Friday June 5. for more information visit www.music-crossroads.com
